The GRAND Locality Grants Scheme is to enable alcohol & drug forums and groups to deliver local events and activities in keeping with the aims of GRAND. These are:

 Raise awareness and increase knowledge of alcohol and drugs issues and services.
 Get communities involved in tackling alcohol and drugs.
 Build partnerships and networks between communities, services and organisations.

WHO CAN APPLY?
The Locality Grants Scheme is open primarily to drug and alcohol forums within the Glasgow City Council area.  Bids made by other organisations or groups must have the support from the drug and alcohol forums (or GRAND local planning groups) operating within the locality area.  For more information on forums and other locality groups please visit www.glasgowgrand.org or contact Stephen Birrell, Glasgow Community and Safety Services, on 0141 276 7654 or stephen.birrell@drs.glasgow.gov.uk.

APPLYING FOR FUNDING
Each CHCP Locality will be able to access a maximum of £3,000 of funding to support events and activities taking place during the GRAND week 2008 (Saturday 13th to Friday 19th September).  Bids may include an element of development work - such as workshops or research activity – which takes place in the period leading up to GRAND week.  Bids may be made as individual applications from local forums or via a partnership bid across a number of forums in the same locality.

There is an upper limit of £1,000 for each award, although you are encouraged to seek other sources of ‘match’ funding and ‘in kind’ contributions from partners and supporters.

Applications will be considered by a panel of members of the Communities Sub-group. As
a condition of grant, all successful projects will be required to submit an evaluation of the activity / event and a detailed account of expenditure (including receipts).
